Kung Fury (2015) is “an over-the-top 80’s action comedy” written & directed by David Sandberg for Laser Unicorns. Starring David Sandberg, Jorma Taccone, Steven Chew, Leopold Nilsson, Andreas Cahling, Per-Henrik Arvidius, Erik Hörnkvist, Frank Sanderson, Eleni Young, and Helene Ahlson. Kung Fury was funded through a Kickstarter campaign (here) that launched in December 2013 and raised more than $630,000. The completed short film was released on May 28, 2015 and is available to watch for free!

Miami Police Department detective and martial artist Kung Fury time travels from the 1980s to World War II to kill Adolf Hitler, a.k.a. “Kung Führer”, and revenge his friend’s death at the hands of the Nazi leader. An error in the time machine sends him further back to the Viking Age.

My thoughts… Kung Fury is David Sandberg’s brilliant homage to ’80s action films! A Kung Fu renegade cop is “hacked” back in time to kill Hitler before he travels to the future! Kung Fury is highly recommended if you loved the second season of the Australian TV series Danger 5. Both deliver plots to kill Hitler, time travel, an abundance ’80s action film references, and indisputable historical accuracy!
