My thoughts… Girls? check. Guns? Check. Zombies? Well, two out of three is just as good! Action School Girl and Machine Gun Maiden are like live-action Japanese anime by way of the Philippines! Jeanne Japitana in Machine Gun Maiden reminds me of Lady Elle in Gothic & Lolita Psycho – without the eye patch! Cool stuff!

I had an urge to listen to some female-fronted Filipino rock bands after watching these films, so I started with Lougee Basabas-era Mojofly. “Wake Up” is an amazing song! I moved on to her next band DeLara, and finished up with all-female rockers General Luna. Must do posts on those artists soon!
