In every generation there is a Chosen One. She alone will stand against the vampires, the demons, and the forces of darkness. She is the Slayer. Based on the characters created by Joss Whedon, this fan-film imagines one night in the futuristic city of Haddyn and the 19-year-old Slayer, Melaka Fray.

Not rated. 6:51 run time.

My thoughts… LURK is based on Joss Whedon’s comic book series Fray (2001-03), a spin-off of Whedon’s TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003). Fray is set in the future and revolves around a 19-year-old vampire slayer named Melaka Fray. If you haven’t read Fray, don’t let that deter you from watching this action-packed fan film! Stefanie Woodburn is awesome as Melaka Fray – as is stunt woman Tamiko Brownlee as Melaka Fray’s stunt double! LURK, as it stands, is perfect for an action triple feature with POPBOOM‘s two live-action comic book fan films: Robyn Hood: I Love NY and Dead@17 Rebirth! However, I’m hoping that Vincent Valentin and Loot Crate Studios continue Melaka Fray’s story in a LURK web series!
